Let us assume there was a shortage of gas and your car was capable of holding enough gas to cover 300 miles:
Would you go on a trip if it was 350 mile trip?
What about 300 miles?
What about a 200 mile trip?
My guess is most people will be very conservative and will be very unlikely to take the 350 mile trip knowing that they will use up all the gas they had before getting to their destination. If one should decide to embark on the 200 mile trip, he or she will take care to drive at speed limits that optimized gas mileage.
Let’s apply this analogy to the world of business. As a business owner you should not start on a 350 mile trip without counting your cost. If you do, you will end up running out of gas and feel stuck in your tracks. Don’t let this be your story, take time to plan and budget. A budget lets you know how much gas you have in your tank and how far you can safely go. Be sure you have enough cushion before taking the full plunge.
